Answers:

I can't view or print the PDF images?...

You are running an older version of Adobe Acrobat. You need to be at Adobe Acrobat 5 the get the most functionality from our product.

Why can't I see all the images?...

The pages are very graphics intense and thus, they DO take a while to download. If the bar at the bottom of your browser window says done, and you STILL can't see all the images, that means it has not loaded properly. Hit REFRESH or RELOAD. Also see Why won't my graphics load?

If you are on a 56k dial up it will take some time to download the images.

Why can't I connect to your site...I keep getting an error message!?...

There are several different reasons why a person can't connect to a web site. A frequent one, is heavy web traffic. Heavy traffic slows web access! Try this: if you are using Netscape as your browser, hit the RELOAD button. If you are using Internet Explorer, hit the REFRESH button. You may have to do this more than once. Usually this will get you in to the site. A slow computer may have more difficulty getting into the site than a faster computer. Also see Why is your site so slow?

Is it safe for me to download the iArchives' Java applet?

Our Java applet is designed for graphic download and printing. It takes the content from our page and makes it user friendly for viewing, printing, and searches. The applet is not cached on your hard drive. It is loaded once per session (every time you start your browser and go to our web page).

No information is transferred from your personal machine to iArchives. As with all our products the Java Applet has been scanned for viruses.

Do you support the Firefox browser?

The site works on Firefox 1.5x, but has not been extensively tested on that browser.

Why is it my machine sluggish starting and exiting?
Why won't my graphics load?
Why is your site so slow?

Try the steps below, but you are also limited to the Internet connection you have. If you are on a 56k dial up it will take some time to download the images.

Clear Cache

Your browser stores graphics and text from web sites that you visit. This information is stored in files on your hard drive and is called the cache. It is quicker for the browser to pull graphics and text from the cache than downloading the entire site again.

Unfortunately, over time, your browser's cache grows. A cache full of outdated information is worse than no cache at all. It causes problems with Java applets, causes you to see out of date text or images, and makes your browser sluggish starting and exiting.

The solution? Clear out the cache and restart the browser.

In Netscape 4.x-6.x:
  • Select Edit, then click Preferences
  • Select Advanced, then click Cache.
  • Click on Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache buttons to clear the cache.
In Explorer 4.x:
  • Select View, then click Internet Options
  • Select the General tab.
  • Click on Delete Files to clear the cache.
In Explorer 5.x:
  • Select Tools.
  • Select the Internet Options.
  • Click on Delete Files to clear the cache.
In AOL:
  • Select My AOL.
  • Select Preferences, then click www.
  • Select Delete Files.
